For the past 2 months we’ve been hard at work on the sound design for The Palace, a short stop motion film by Robin Heap and John Eyre. It’s been a long but rewarding process and the finished film is now being submitted to festivals so be on the lookout for it.
For our latest project we’re exploring the scope of sounds from a bicycle. We spent a day recording elements such as wheels in motion, brakes, gears, and any other parts that we could extract a sound from. We plan to take these recordings and create a short sound piece that will be developed in collaboration with animator Eddie Song. A big thanks to Nic Rowe for his help with recording and supply of the bicycle.
Matt recently spent a day at the LG Showroom recording home appliances for their latest Ad. After creating a library of everything from fridge doors to robot vacuum cleaners, the sounds were passed onto remix artists Nick Bertke and Josh Kershaw, aka Pogo and Jeesh. Using a combination of the sounds recorded at the LG showroom and original LG commercials Pogo and Jeesh created the catchy mashup track below.
We’re currently hard at work designing sounds for the shade character (concept art below) in Legend of Hart’s Hollow. Lots of creepy ethereal voices and ominous tones. Check out the production blog for the game here; hartshollow.tumblr.com
This is our latest project “Circles”, a conceptual piece by New York based animator Eddie Song. The abstract nature of the animation gave us a wide scope to create a playful and engaging piece.
With plenty of experimentation and numerous drafts, we put together a sound design that guides you through the journey of the animation. Devising concepts for each part of the piece and creating unique audio characters for each object. We completed the entire process remotely, providing drafts to Eddie and tweaking the sound design to his feedback. Here’s the final piece, we hope you enjoy it.
